Maison Francaişe is located within a large and spacious three-storey bungalow and its table setting is typically French with white table cloths and curtains with French pleats while the chandeliers exude a very cosy, romantic ambience. This is the place to host a private function for both children and adults alike.
The pan-seared foie gras is a rich and delectable appetiser. It is seared on the outside and pink on the inside and when paired with succulent honey persimmons, it is a perfect classic fit of sweet and savoury indulgence.
For mains, the grilled beef tenderloin, bordelaise sauce and pan-seared sweet bread is a flavourful dish. The generous beef tenderloin is grilled to the required doneness and served on a reduction of red wine, shallots and bone marrow. The pan-seared sweet bread has a nutty bite and is crispy on the outside, and soft, moist and creamy on the inside. An excellent complement to the tenderloin.
For a sweet ending, the le soufflé au votre choix (Cointreau soufflé) definitely rises to the occasion – light and fluffy, and baked to perfection. The light orange notes of the Cointreau leaves an aromatic, light and crisp flavour on the tongue. All three dishes complement each other and make for a stellar French dining experience.
There is an extensive wine list covering particularly French and European wine as expected and the sommelier is knowledgeable to give recommendations. Wines by the glass offer a few choices for red and whites, but more choices for bottles.
Staff are friendly, hospitable with good service giving attention to detail in a very helpful demeanor.
When considering the quality of the food and service, it is perfectly reasonable for such a fine French establishment.
