The interior is minimalistic, with plenty of water features running through the restaurant and there is a lot of use of cement rendering, mirrors and ambient lighting. The entrance way is impressive, opens up to the restaurant bar and leads into the dining room, which has spectacular views of the Petronas Twin Towers and the Kuala Lumpur skyline. It is especially suited for dates and group special occasions.
There are the options of four, six or eight, in any combination of starters, mains or desserts. Each course is a small tasting portion therefore, six courses is their recommendation.
The cured Australian scampi is combined with salted duck egg and fish roe making for an incredibly delectable starter. The leek and bone marrow comprises and roasted Wagyu marrow in a red wine reduction is a wonderful blend of flavours and is a must-try dish.
For dessert, the popcorn and macadamia nut is a heavenly combination of popcorn ice-cream with a milk chocolate sponge, milk chocolate and caramel nuts. It is a suprisingly delicious and unexpected blend of flavours. The vanilla and apple is made up of green apple sorbet with vanilla pastry cream, nitrogen milk rocks and milk crisps. This is a light and refreshing end to the meal.
There is a wide variety of wines and Champagnes with an emphasis on French wines, with a range of price points suited to different budgets. It’s cocktail selection is also pretty good, ranging from traditional aperitifs to interesting champagne cocktail blends.
Staff are friendly and well-trained in the newly launched menu. They are also able to recommend signature dishes and explain the ingredients when the food arrives.
The bill of a six-course and eight-course dinner plus drinks comes up to approximately RM1,100. Taking into consideration the ambience, the location, view, service and food, it’s a fair price. Cantaloupe serves an express lunch menu for RM120++ ; possibly a good option to enjoy the ambience at a excellent price.
