If your impression of Turkish food ends at kebabs and falafel, hop onboard a culinary discovery of the Mediterranean flavours at Mosaic, Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur, happening now till March 12, 2017.

Chef Berk Alpay and team has created a lavish buffet spread, beginning with starters of assorted Turkish cold appetisers like fava – mashed broad beans with dill and olive oil, Türk Peynir Aynasi – a traditional Turkish cheese platter, and warming soups spanning legume to fish bases.

A robust selection of main dishes feature highlights like the Piliç Topkapı – stuffed chicken leg with spicy rice pilaf, Tereyağlı Karides Güveç – shrimp casserole with butter, Tuzda Levrek – baked sea bass in salt crust and traditional oven-baked Turkish pide, or lavash bread.

Bring the experience to full circle with dazzling cakes and puddings. We recommend the Şekerpare – mini semolina cake coated in sugar syrup, Fırın Sütlaç – baked Turkish rice pudding, and the Ayva Tatlısı – baked fresh quince and grated apple in sugar syrup. Up for ice cream? Make a stop at the ice cream station where you’ll be recipient of an amusing ritual.
